I dont remember who the person was that did it, its a famous pointalism painting. Its not so much the art i like so much as it amazes me the amount of time they must put into making thousands upon thousands of tiny dots.

I don't think he liked mixing paint. He was trying to make a painting where the viewer's eye would mix the colors itself. He succeeded, but the effect is grainy, and he didn't like that part. There are actually several early versions of Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, using different brush stroke techniques, though I'm not sure if they are titled similarly or at all, I've seen them in magazine articles about him and visual mixing, also called pointillism. His paintings are amazing, I'd like to see one in real life someday.
